My name is Valerie Baker and I teach 5th grade at Taft Elementary in Lincoln City. I would like to express my thoughts and appreciation to Donate2Eduucate for the wonderful opportunity to have needed supplies donated to my classsroom. These days, it is more and more difficult to find room in our shrinking school budgets for even the most basic student supplies. With Donate2Educate, I have been able to list those needed items on the website and have interested folks find them and take the generous step to provide them for us. It's a unique opportunity that allows people who want to support education to see a specific need and make a difference directly. The donations I have received through this website have meant that each of my students had a pair of scissors or a ruler; that our class can begin growing a garden; or can print their final projects for publication. My students and I are so grateful for Donat2Educate! I am extremely appreciative of the Estacada Community Foundation and Donate2Educate for providing the opportunity to request needed supplies for our school and individual programs. I have found that rewarding students for reading at home increases their frequency of reading and as a result, they become stronger readers. Recently, I received money to buy reading incentive prizes for students that consistently read at home and was thus able to find some fun books at a very reasonable price to reward these students for their efforts. I am pleased to say that the help of Estacada Community Foundation and Donate2Educate is making a difference in children's lives at Eagle Creek Elementary. Dear Kind Friend,Thank you for your generous donation. I intend to get a nice, crisp, white and clean screen to use on a daily basis so my students can easily take notes and learn. It's that simple. Right now, I use two pieces of white cardboard precariously tacked to the wall, and I have to move my transparency around so it fits in the little white space. Kind of pathetic, actually. Donate2 Educate, Thank you so much for all that you do for the children and teachers in the Oregon City School District. Without your support I would not have had any chance at all of getting a smartboard. After taking the smartboard class I knew it is the way to go, when teaching children. I spoke to our principal and she said put it on donate2educate. Her suggestion paid off, a fully funded smartboard. I again am so grateful for all that your organization does.
